 Orthodontics

Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that deals with the study and correction of the abnormal position of one or more dental elements

Orthodontics is not to be confused with orthodontics which is not limited to the manipulations of the teeth but goes further, also dealing with the malformations of the jaw bones and the repercussions that these irregularities have on the appearance of the face and on the effectiveness of functions such as breathing, chewing and speaking [2] .

The orthodontic practice basically consists of two types of therapy which very often are consequential.

  • Surgical therapy: it is carried out by extracting those teeth that hinder alignment and articulation  of others or the correct dento-facial position.

  • Mechanical therapy: it is implemented through the construction of different types of  appliances  which we can divide into:

  • Active luminaires: act directly with their force when activated (e.g. luminaires with screws, arches, springs, etc.)

  • Passive appliances: they exploit the masticatory forces being in themselves inactive (e.g. vestibular plate, inclined plane, etc.)

Children's orthodontics

The first visit to the orthodontist should be at the age of 7. At this age we can correct minor tooth irregularities and predict future ones, and even apply so-called functional mobile appliances and devices only for growing children. If you are unsure how your child will react during the visit to the dentist, it is best to make an appointment for a first visit. Our relaxed and somewhat informal approach is particularly well received among younger people. If you are unsure please contact us.

Orthodontics for adults

When teeth stop growing and physical development ends, fixed orthodontic appliances are used. There is no age limit for orthodontic therapy with fixed orthodontic braces and thus the correction of irregular teeth is done with the same success both in the case of adults and children. The fixed appliance exists in many different forms. The decision on which fixed appliance to use depends on the type of disorder, the age of the patient and personal preferences. In our dental practice the orthodontic work is done by specialists in orthodontics and our patients are very satisfied with the results. .

In our dental office, orthodontic work is done by specialized orthodontic experts and our patients are very satisfied with the results.
The Damon System - Physical Appearance Guided Orthodontics When it comes to selecting individual systems and methods, we always prioritize the most modern methods in our practice. The Damon system - physical appearance guided orthodontics is certainly on top of the most modern methods.

Regarding the selection of individual systems and methods, in our study we always give priority to the most modern methods. The Damon system - physical appearance guided orthodontics is certainly on top of the most modern methods.

The Damon Orthodontic System is a new technique for using self-contained low-friction brackets and special hi-tech cables that create light force and minimally invasive procedures to achieve extraordinary results. The advantages of the Damon system compared to conventional orthodontic techniques are numerous, above all to underline is the shorter duration of therapy, fewer checks, easier oral hygiene maintenance, is more acceptable for patients, requires fewer extractions and surgical procedures and is used without additional orthodontic appliances (RPE, headgear).
